Start Spreading the News

We recently returned from a fun little jaunt to New York/New Jersey. We attended our first Broadway show (The Producers) which made us positively giddy. It was so slick and remarkably funny. Even Frank was enthralled. It sure made me miss my old musical theater days.

We also tooled around Little Italy, ate cannolis and pasta, strolled through the quaint little city of Madison, NJ, explored Greenwich Village and got yelled at by a homeless lady in Penn Station.

We heard real live utterings of "Fuhgetaboudit" from mouth-breathing goombas. As we waited for our train into Manhattan, we watched in awe as a little Mario-like train conductor jumped off a stopping train and yelled "Hoboken! Hoboken!" in his best Jersey accent, while the train's white steam billowed out behind him. I expected to hear a director to yell "CUT," but on again Mario jumped and the train chugged off to Hoboken while we sat on a wooden bench waiting for ours in the lovely glow of the late afternoon sun, while tiny birds fluttered about. It was positive picturesque! The train stations were surprisingly clean and charming. Funny how their insignificant daily routine can be such a novelty to visitors.

Oh, I also managed to devour the book Marley and Me during our travel time -- a truly fantastic read, but tough when you're far away from your beloved pets! We had so much fun that I didn't even mind twisting my ankle in China Town and busting my poor knee on the dirty pavement. I guess the scar will make up for not getting a tattoo. I just have one question for you New Yorkers: What's with all the honking??? Seriously? I don't get it. It doesn't do a thing.

Life is good. Been so busy with some exciting things and hope to share them with you soon!

Do some good. Then do some great.

Loving spring,
Regina
