Invisible Concrete

My body isn’t taking instructions very well this week. A wave of extreme tiredness has set in, and I suspect my body is being dipped in a layer of invisible concrete while I sleep. It's as if I’m trudging through honey.

It was a rough Thanksgiving weekend, with distressing news flying at me from every direction. Perhaps now the stress has caught up with me physically. I don’t want to get into details at the moment, but several people whom I love dearly are enduring, or are about to endure terrible storms. It’s time to buck up and be strong for those who need my support, but what I really want to do is wrap myself up on a warm cocoon and hibernate in a blissful slumber.

On a positive note, our gig last Saturday night was quite fun. It was a nice escape from thinking about things too much, and I just enjoyed making music with good friends. And what an effective stress release singing for 3 hours can be! It is essentially controlled screaming.

Oh yes, and on another very positive note, Frank and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary Monday. Yes sireee, now we’re talking. Happy-happy-joy-joy! It’s been a great year, and just keeps getting better. My marriage has been my rock, and my hubby is good at keeping me from taking life – and myself – too seriously. Something I really need at the moment.
